What is "THE BORDER LINE"?
The Border Line is our newsletter to you, letting you know what is happening at Beyond the Borders Travel as well as upcoming events and trips.
WHAT WE DO- AFFINITY GROUPS- Singles, Special Needs, Family Reunions, Honeymoons..etc. An Affinity Group or event is gathering folks together with a common interest.
- GROUPS -- we love groups because it brings folks together with a like interest and bonds friendships. Lives are changed as you experiance life outside your normal border lines and explore territories you would not do on your own.
- COMMUNITY SERVICE/ MISSIONS - we believe that in order to impact our world, we first begin at home. If we can't first take care of our neighbors here at home, how or why should be ever think of going elsewhere to impact a nation. That's why we empower and encourage community service / mission projects right here at home. This does not mean that we don't think we should go to other countries to make a difference, but it all starts right here in our own backyard
UPCOMING EVENTS- April 2010 and ongoing --- COMMUNITY TRAINING HOMES - this is a group of 5 homes in Gaffney SC housing Special Needs Individuals. We will be planting a garden at 3 homes and will need volunteers to help take care of the gardens. Most of the residence the these homes can help maintain the garden, but additional help is needed. In addition to the garden, there are small projects that need to be done in regards to general maintence of the homes. Due to governmental budget cuts, these folks are drastically impacted with just he ease of everyday life. Please contact us if you are interested in volunteering your time, whether you have 1-hr or can volunteer on a regular basis, it's all welcome.
- June 11-13, 2010 - CIRCLE OF FRIENDS CAMPING - this is a weekend camping trip for Singles in Bat Cave NC. This year marks our 7th year for this week-end event. The cost always includes accommodations & food for the weekend. The most intriguing event is the Trash Can supper on Saturday evenings when supper is cooked in a trash can. There is always a line waiting to dig in and plenty for everyone. See the website for more information.

After we finish exploring the Kenai Peninsula, we will head north to Talkeetna and take the Alaska Railroad into Denali at Mt. McKinley. Through out this trip we will experience Alaska in up close and personal and going beyond the normal boundaries of the touristy locations.
